Installation tips

• Install from above (in the roof space) or from below, whichever suits your access.
• Let the batts expand to full thickness, and never compress them, because that lowers the R-value.
• Keep batts clear of downlights, flues and exhaust fans unless they’re rated for insulation contact.
• Use a kneeling board across the joists when working in the roof space.
• Wear gloves, long sleeves and a dust mask when cutting.

FAQ
What does R4.1 mean? It’s the thermal resistance rating. A higher R-value means better insulation.
What’s the difference between R3.5 and R4.1? R4.1 is 215mm thick versus 175mm, giving noticeably higher thermal performance, but it needs more roof depth.
Will it fit my roof space? You need at least 215mm of clear depth above the ceiling. Check this first.
Can I put it over existing insulation? Often yes, as long as the existing insulation is dry and in good condition. Check your climate zone’s recommended total R-value.
Can I use it in a wall? No. Use wall batts.
