Sancell Air 310 + LAP Reflective Foil Insulation (1350mm x 22.25m)

Steel sheds and warehouses get hot fast, and the steel frame lets heat pass straight through. Sancell Air 310 + LAP is built for exactly that. The 11mm bubble core adds a thermal break with a material R-value of R0.20, and the reflective foil face bounces back up to 97% of radiant heat. The 150mm lap along one edge makes joins quicker and gives you more coverage from every roll.

What is it made of?

Aluminium foil over a triple-layer polyethylene bubble core, with two layers of high-density polyethylene weave for strength. The bubble core contains up to 20% recycled material.

Air 310 or Air 104?

Choose Air 310 if you want the extra thermal break and cushioning of the thicker bubble core. Choose Air 104 for general roof and wall work where a slimmer sheet suits.

Reflective foil or bulk insulation?

Reflective foil is very effective at blocking radiant heat, which makes it popular in hot climates and under metal roofs. It works best with a reflective air space next to the foil, and it’s often combined with bulk insulation for year-round thermal performance. Use our Earthwool® Therma Blanket range when you also want bulk R-value. Check the NCC requirement for your climate zone.

Installation tips

• Follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions and the relevant standards for your application.
• Overlap the 150mm lap neatly, and seal joins with reinforced foil tape where the instructions call for it.
• Keep the foil intact, and repair any tears.
• Keep a clear air gap against the reflective surface where the system relies on it.
• The foil conducts electricity, so keep it at least 50mm clear of light fittings and hot flues, and use plastic fixings near wiring.
• Wear UV-protective sunglasses when installing outdoors in bright sun.

FAQ

What’s the difference between Air 310 and Air 104? Air 310 is 11mm thick with an R0.20 material R-value, while Air 104 is 4mm with R0.10. Air 310 is aimed at sheds, warehouses and steel frames.
What does the + LAP mean? It’s a 150mm overlap along one edge of the roll, so joins are quicker and there’s less waste.
Is it a vapour barrier? Yes, it’s rated as a Class 2 vapour barrier.
Is it safe to handle? It’s non-itchy, fibre free and classed as non-hazardous. The foil conducts electricity, so keep it away from live wiring.
How much does one roll cover? About 30 m² (for the standard roll), before allowing for laps and offcuts.
